Words cannot express the absolute pleasure it was to have my Dad’s (Jack Pring) Celebration of Life at The Mirabeau Park Hotel.  Dad was a proud lifetime Valley Guy and would not have wanted it anywhere else.  He called the Max his “country club” as he was always proud to take his friends there for great food and exceptional service.

Every detail was covered with such meticulous care given.  The room was beautifully set up, the tables were perfect, the projectors and sound spot on, the bars were beautifully displayed with fantastic choices and the serving stations of food were gorgeous.  Those that hand passed trays did so with such grace.  The food was as always delicious, and your entire staff worked with such passion to create a lasting memory for those who were there.  Every position from the guy putting in ice in the bar areas to the dishwashers hustling with hot steam surrounding them was sincerely a part of making up The Dream Team.

From beverage, food, drink, IT, booking of rooms, to working with Doug, it could not have been a nicer experience. When Doug said he would do something-he followed through.  His word was his bond.  He asked my mom if she would like a cup of coffee.  She asked for de-caf.  He brewed her a fresh pot. Above & beyond.   My parents dated 8 years before they were married, and the day of the service was their 70th anniversary.   A love story for the ages.  Everyone was warm and friendly during such a heart-breaking time.  This went off 8 days after my dad passed away, and everyone was exceptional in making this a seamless event.  You showed resilience, experience, knowledge, diligence, hard work, late nights, and early mornings.  The kindness and smiles from staff throughout the event were noticed by all.

My Dad lived by the Code of the West.  He followed 10 Principles to Live By

  1. Live each day with courage
  2. Take Pride in your work
  3. Always finish what you start
  4. Do what must be done
  5. Be tough, but fair
  6. When you make a promise.  Keep it.
  7. Ride for the brand
  8. Talk less and say more
  9. Remember that some things aren’t for sale
  10. Know where to draw the line

The exemplary service provided truly was a shining example of these ten principles.  Excellence is not an act but a habit, and you were every bit the polish that made this an afternoon to remember.  From the entire Pring Family we thank you.  Although our hearts are shattered, we were so comforted by the kindness and friendship shown to our guests.

With gratitude,

Susie Prince
